I had moments of trepidation wondering if I had the stuff to break free and form the Frisian tag. I played as a Frankish ruler and went through a rollercoaster of a ride that is CK2 to earn that achievement at the end. My most memorable would have been for CK2 which was the “Frisian Coast is Long” achievement. I’m particularly talking about EUIV and CK2 that help guide a starting nation through some interesting gameplay loops. The achievements I normally set out for typically come from the grand strategy genre. Achievement text is " Max out any avatar skill tree, by spending a skill point in each skill within a single skill tree." Doesn’t make sense though because I barely played Fall of the Samurai in Shogun 2. My absolute rarest is Shogun 2 “Skilled Warrior” that 0.5% of players have. The rarest achievements are ones that I never set out to purposefully obtain. My steam achievement showcase on my profile says 2987 achievements, 4 perfect games and a 25% average game completion rate. I can be a little weird about achievements, I’ll fully admit. I’m also proud of the achievement for beating Halo Reach on legendary solo, and also for beating The Witcher 2 on dark difficulty.Ĭraziest achievement, I don’t know? I have done some dumb stuff for achievements, like letting 18 or so bears attack me in Red Dead Redemption 2. I remember working really hard with a friend over a couple of weeks trying to get the achievement for playing through the Portal 2 co-op campaign without dying.

I don’t think that was my most difficult achievement though, not by a long shot. Since they started tracking rarity, looks like at the moment the Crackdown 3 achievement “Captain Sidequest”, (for collecting every orb, getting gold in every race, unlocking 20 weapons and 10 gadgets) is rarest.

I have a 66% completion percentage of games I have played on Xbox (that’s across Windows, Xbox 360, Xbox One and even a few Windows Phone games back when I had one). But anyway, I use the site to track rarity and completion percentages, which is how I found out that: Mostly I keep track of them on Xbox, they don’t seem as meaningful to me on Steam - possibly because they added those in after I had been playing for a while there. I love achievements - I love getting them and I love going back through them occasionally, they’re like little medals from campaigns I’ve lived through. I don’t normally go crazy for achievements but for some reason, I got involved with this one and I had to complete it. I had to run the game in the background for several hours, checking it every so often, and healing my Ranger whenever his health got low. The only problem is that the infection will kill your Ranger before they turn unless you keep them alive by healing them of the damage done. You get this by getting on of your Ranger team infected and turning into a “pod person”.
